Dave Grohl “Monkey Wrench” Guitar Up For Auction
Dave Grohl’s guitar is expected to bring big money at the auction next month. The white Gretsch White Falcon guitar was played on the Foo Fighters’ 1995 album “The Color And The Shape,” and part of the listing is a Polaroid picture taken by the guitar’s original owner Pat Smear showing Drew Barrymore playing the guitar.
The instrument was the one Grohl was playing in the video for “Monkey Wrench,” which was also the first single from the band to feature drummer Taylor Hawkins. Auctioneer Luke Hobbs says he’s “expecting interest from around the world” for the auction on September 7th, with the guitar expected to bring in around $35k.
