Here is the Origin of That Meme of the Blonde Lady Yelling at the Cat

We've all seen that meme of the blonde lady crying tears of rage as she yells and points at that smug little white cat. Most of us have used it, too. It's honestly one of the funnier memes to come along in the last few years.

But did you know the origin of that meme is kind of dark? It's rooted in domestic abuse.

The woman in the meme is Taylor Armstrong from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." When this happened, she was in an abusive marriage, and trying to keep it quiet, because she was afraid of her husband.

In that particular episode, one of the other women mentioned the abuse on camera, and Taylor freaked.

If you're wondering where the cat came from, that story's far more wholesome. It's just a cat named Smudge who likes to sit at the table when his family eats dinner. But he's not impressed by vegetables.

She was terrified that she and her child might be in danger when her husband found out she'd told people about the abuse. So THAT is what's causing the anger and anguish on her face.

If this makes you feel bad for enjoying that meme, don't worry . . . Taylor's cool with it. She finally left her abusive husband after he broke an orbital bone in her face . . . and she now speaks to women about domestic abuse.

And she says, "My life back then seems like someone else's life. It's so far in the past for me, and I've come so far since then that I find the meme hysterical."
