Metallica Offering Lessons On How To Play Like Them
If you want to play like Metallica, and who doesn’t, the band has partnered with online course provider Yousician to put out a three-lesson course aimed at beginners. Students will learn riffs and rhythms from James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett, and all four band members give insight into the songs.
The first lesson, “Riff Lite,” is available now, with future lessons “Rock In Rhythm” and “Take the Lead” will roll out over the next few weeks. The lessons will take students through 10 of the band’s biggest hits, including “Enter Sandman,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and what Hetfield says is the real way to play “Master of Puppets.”

Florence & The Machine Show Registered As An Earthquake
How do you know a concert crowd is having a great time? It shows up on seismographs. Data scientist Jens Skapski says that three stations in the area of Tempelhofer Feld registered a 1.4 magnitude tremor at 8:58 p.m. during Florence & The Machine’s set at the Tempelhof Sounds festival.
A German news outlet reported that someone at the show said you could feel the vibrations at the concert, and Skapski assumed the readings were caused by a concert before finding out what caused them. “It’s equivalent to a small earthquake,” Skapski said.
The festival had around 60k attendees at the closed Tempelhof Airport.
