Anonymous Donor Covers Funeral Expenses For TX Shooting Victims
An anonymous donor has donated money to pay for the funerals of the victims of the Uvalda mass shooting. In the wake of the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on May 24th, many of the families of the victims turned to social media to crowdfund money to help them pay for the considerable expenses they would be dealing with.
Well, an anonymous donor has stepped forward to take one thing off their plate: the cost of burying their loved one. An anonymous individual has donated $175-thousand through the Texas governor’s office to pay for the funerals of the 21 victims, 19 of whom were children.
The governor has promised to make sure the funds make it into the right hands and vowed no victim’s family would have to worry about a single cost related to the incident.

A Texas artist is creating and donating custom caskets for victims of the Uvalde elementary school massacre.
Trey Ganem, the owner of the custom casket company SoulShine Industries, said he met with family members to discuss the designs of each of the 19 caskets he is creating. Each casket is designed to spotlight the child's interests such as superhero logos and animals. A manufacturer in Georgia worked for 20 hours straight to provide Ganem with enough child-sized caskets. Funeral services for the 21 victims of the shooting are set to begin today.

San Antonio Barber Creates Hairstyle To Honor Uvalde Victims
A famous barber from the South Side of San Antonio has created a cut that honors the victims of the Uvalde school shooting. Rob the Original now lives in Arizona, but he comes back to San Antonio every month. He stopped by his old barbershop on Southeast Military Drive a few days after the shooting at Robb Elementary School. On the back of a boy's head, Rob shaved the shape of Texas with the words "Uvalde Strong" and a heart over the city of Uvalde.

Cornyn Among Bipartisan Group Of Senators Discussing Gun Reform
Texas Senator John Cornyn is one of a bipartisan group of senators trying to find common ground on gun reform. The Senate isn't in session this week, but the group will meet remotely today to discuss gun control policy. Cornyn says the group will discuss background checks and potential limits on "what sort of firearms you can buy and own and maintain" with a criminal or mental health record. The Republicans said many issues should be discussed at the state level, but the Senate needs to take some steps at the national level.

Uvalde School District Police Chief Will Be Sworn Into City Council
Uvalde CISD Police Chief Pete Arredondo will be sworn into office as a city councilman, but not today. Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin announced on Monday that he was canceling today's meeting because the first funerals for the school shooting victims will be held today. Arredondo is facing criticism for his response to the shooting. The Texas Rangers and the state police are investigating the matter, but McLaughlin says he's not aware of any investigation of Arredondo himself, who was elected to the council in May.

GoFundMe for Teacher and Husband in Uvalde is Over $2.7 Million
After the tragic school shooting in Texas last week, there was another tragedy. The husband of one of the teachers who was killed died of a heart attack just days later. So their family is now rallying around their four kids . . . and so is the whole world.
Someone started a GoFundMe to make sure they at least don't have to worry about money. Last we checked, over $2.7 MILLION had been raised.
