Do you know what "ranchera music" is?
It's more of a feeling than a term that can be described but it mostly refers to music that is more traditional in Mexico.
The poster boy (man) for this type of musica is Vicente Fernandez who passed away over the weekend. The date of his death also coincided with the Feast Day of the Virgin de Guadalupe aka the patron saint of brown people (Mexico and Latin America.)
If you are an "white-washed" Latina like me, you know him as your grandma's crush and your grandpa's background music.
