FOOD: Hot Dog Flavored Candy Canes Are Here for the Holidays

Hot Dog Flavored Candy Canes Are Here for the Holidays

I feel like the only reason to buy these is to prank someone, because they can't actually taste good, right? Hot dog-flavored CANDY CANES are here. And they look exactly like normal candy canes.

The novelty candy company Archie McPhee is selling six-packs of them for $6.50. And unfortunately, they're already sold out. But you can sign up to get an email when they have more in stock.

They've been selling odd candy cane flavors for a while now. Their other flavors include bacon, sardines, ketchup, kale, pickles, pizza, and mac-and-cheese. You can check them out at McPhee.com

Taco Bell Taps November 4th For Free Taco Giveaway

Recently we told you about Taco Bell’s plans for their 10th annual “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” World Series promotion. Thanks to Atlanta Braves' second baseman Ozzie Albies stealing a base in Game 1, it’s game ON – and now, Taco Bell will be giving away free Doritos Locos Tacos on November 4th (that’s next Thursday).

Since Albies got his steal in so early in the series, he’s also been named this year’s “Taco Hero” and you can get your free taco by ordering online, in-store, or with the app.” And while the giveaway is good all-day at participating locations, it’s while supplies last…and there’s a limit of one taco per person.

But get this - if you’re an existing Taco Bell Rewards member, you can actually get your free taco before November 4th. And don’t try sneaking in – if you signed up before Game 1, a free taco was already loaded into your account. But you still need to act fast – the reward expires November 3rd (that’s next Wednesday) at 11:59 pm PT, And one other thing…it’s only redeemable via the Taco Bell mobile app.

Interested in Hearing What Kind of Tips a Hooters Server Makes?

A Hooters server named Kirsten Songer posted a video showing the good and not-so-good tips she made in a week. This was last summer, but it's making the rounds now. Her best day was Sunday when she worked 10:30 to 5:30 and made $408.

A not-so-good day was Wednesday when she brought home $50 after working from 10:30 to 2:30. Her total for the week was $1,258, not counting her whopping $2.13 per hour wage. She also made an extra $50 doing a Hooters calendar photoshoot.

(Here's the video. Kirsten works at a Hooters in South Carolina.)

Two-Thirds of Us Have a Go-To Sandwich We Always Order . . . and Cheesesteaks Are Our Favorite

Do you have a go-to sandwich that you always order for lunch, or do you mix it up? Two-thirds of Americans say they usually order the same type of sandwich . . . and our favorite overall is CHEESESTEAKS.

According to a new poll done by French's mustard, America's five favorite sandwiches are Cheesesteaks . . . burgers . . . pulled pork sandwiches . . . Italian subs . . . and Reubens. (Back up for a second. Is a burger really a "sandwich"?)

Two-thirds of people say a good sandwich needs between three and six toppings, including condiments and things like onions or tomatoes. But 57% say the meat is the most important part. And the least popular ingredient that can RUIN a sandwich is . . . olives. Banana peppers also ranked low.
