The Best Cheap Vodkas Under $30 If You’re Tired Of Tito’s

Vodka is a liquor that is made from grains like wheat, rye, and sometimes potatoes, rice, or fruit, and it’s not always necessary to spend a bundle on a satisfying product. Tito’s seems to be the basic go-to vodka for many people, but if you’re tired of it there are plenty of choices under $30 that experienced bartenders recommend. You may not be familiar with all of them, but here are several that fit the bill.

  • American Liquor Co. Vodka – blends wheat, corn, potato, and rye with peppery notes and a vanilla-like finish. $24 at drizly.com
  • Prairie Vodka – made from corn from the U.S. Midwest with a fruity, citrus note $20 at com
  • Smirnoff Vodka No. 21 – the most popular vodka in the world first distilled in Moscow in 1864 $19 at drizly.com
  • Stolichnaya – known as Stoli, it’s medium-bodied with a slight sweet wheat-flavored finish also from Russia $16 at totalwine.com
  • Luksusowa – a best-seller among potato vodkas from Poland $19 at luksusowavodka.com
  • Reyka – made with Icelandic spring water filtered with lava rocks $22 at flaviar.com
  • Suntory Haku Vodka – uses Japanese white rice, filtered through bamboo charcoal and a subtly sweet taste profile $28 at flaviar.com

Oreo Unveils Limited Edition Pokémon Packs

Oreo has announced a collaboration with the Pokémon franchise and the release of a limited-edition Pokémon cookie pack with unique cookie embossments that feature characters like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu. The packs show up on store shelves Monday, but you can also preorder them now on the Oreo website.

There was a tease of the new product back in June but now it’s here and the goal is to “provide existing fans with something unexpected, as well as to engage new fans with fun elements inherent to the franchise.”

In addition to the cookie pack, there’s a special mural created on the Venice Beach Boardwalk in Los Angeles that will be up through October 3rd and have more than 8,000 3D replicas of Pokémon embossed Oreos if you really want to get your Pokémon fix.

Oreo also introduced Lady Gaga Oreos earlier, inspired by her “Chromatica” album, and the brand plans to continue collaborations with different participants in the future.

Here’s Where You Can Try Impossible Foods’ Chicken-Free Nuggets

We all know that the meatless meat craze continues with more and more restaurants and grocers offering these products to folks who want a healthier option. This market was valued at $7 billion during 2020 according to CB Insights and the growth continues. One of the biggest players in the field is Impossible Foods, which features the Impossible Burger made with potato and soy proteins, and their newest entry is Impossible Foods Chicken Nuggets. Not sure why they are calling them “chicken” nuggets, since they are meatless and made with soy protein, sunflower oil, wheat flour breadcrumbs, and flavored with herbs and seasoning. Regardless of that, they are a little hard to find since their introduction on September 7th so here’s a list of places where they are available now.

  • Some locations of Fat Burger, Gott’s Roadside, and Dog Haus
  • Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster in New York and Miami
  • Sean Brock’s Joyland in Nashville, Tennessee
  • Tal Ronnen’s Crossroads Kitchen in L.A.
  • Traci des Jardins’ El Alto Jr. in Los Altos, California
  • David Chang’s Fuku in New York

If you can’t get to any of these spots, look for an expansion to 10,000 grocery stores by the end of 2021, including Safeway, ShopRite, Giant, Kroger, and Walmart. For an updated list of availability go to the Impossible Foods website HERE.
