James Hetfield has put his own spin on a classic Bob Seger tune. The Metallica frontman was among the stars at this weekend’s VetsAid benefit livestream… where he performed an acoustic cover of “Turn The Page.”

This isn’t the first time the rocker has covered the 1973 song, Metallica debuted their version of the single in 1998 as part of their “Garage Inc” covers album. Before his performance at the virtual benefit, James took a moment to pay tribute to the country’s first responders, military and their families.

“Those who serve our country and those who put themselves on the line – mentally, physically and spiritually,” he said. “Not just them – first responders, military and the families along with them. Thank you for what you do and your sacrifices.” Check out a video of the performances below.
