Bring Me The Horizon Got Sued By Evanescence Before Their Collaboration

Bring Me The Horizon and Evanescence just released a track together, “One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March To Your Death.” It turns out there’s an unlikely story behind the collab… which started with a lawsuit.

In a new interview, BMTH frontman Oli Sykes reveals that the band once got sued by Evanescence’s Amy Lee. Sykes admits the band ripped off one of Evanescence’s verses on a song for their last album “amo,” which he says they didn’t even bother to argue because it was a “subsconscious” mistake.

But after agreeing the share a songwriting credit with Lee, the two rock acts became unlikely friends. “[Evanescence’s management] was like, ‘Amy really likes your band and would love to work with you,’” Sykes says. “That was the silver lining.”

Corey Taylor Playing Special Charity Show

Corey Taylor just pulled off an epic virtual concert earlier this month, and now he’s ready to do it again. The Slipknot frontman is playing a special show this week benefiting a good cause.

On Thursday, the rocker will play a socially-distant show in Los Angeles, with proceeds going towards the Sweet Relief Covid-19 Fund. A $5 donation to the cause will enter fans into a ticket lottery, where five winners will be allowed to bring a friend to the private performance – and one of them will get a big prize, an Ephiphone Les Paul Special Vintage Edition electric guitar signed by Corey.

Fans should get their entries in by tomorrow night. Check out more details on how to enter HERE.

The Strokes Return To “SNL”

The Strokes returned to NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend. It was the band’s fourth time as the comedy sketch show’s musical guest, and their first time back on the “SNL” stage in nine years.

Introduced by host John Mulaney, the band performed “The Adults Are Talking” and “Bad Decisions” from their latest album, “The New Abnormal,” which they released back in April. In a new interview with “The Times,” frontman Julian Casablancas admits he gets tired of playing old songs live.

“When you’re growing up and imagining playing music, it is for the excitement, but the one aspect of doing it for a living that is a sadness you don’t anticipate is that you play songs so much, you become sick of them.” Check out clips of their performance to the right.
