Music: Machine Gun Kelly Drops Rock Song

Machine Gun Kelly Drops Rock Song

Machine Gun Kelly is taking a break from rap for his next album. He’s announced that he’ll be releasing a rock album in 2020, unveiling the first single, “Why Are You Here.”

He’s warned fans before not to “box” him “into one genre,” and now he’s proving he can explore different sounds. The catchy track ditches the rap verses and beats for some Blink-182 inspired guitar melodies and drums.

It’s not like MGK hasn’t rocked out before. He released a collab with Yungblud and Blink-182’s Travis Barker earlier this year, “I Think I’m Okay.” Check out his new song to the right.

"They thought, 'Get the lead singer sober, and all our problems would be over.' So I got sober and, you know, it took me many years to get over the anger of them sending me to rehab while they went on vacation . . .

"But today, because of that moment . . . I'm grateful and owe a thanks to them for my sobriety."
