Music: Eddie Van Halen Is Being Treated for Throat Cancer

Eddie Van Halen Is Being Treated for Throat Cancer

Why has VAN HALEN been so quiet for so long? It sounds like we finally have our answer. TMZ says EDDIE is being treated for cancer again.

He's supposedly been flying to Germany for several years to be treated for throat cancer.

Eddie had a third of his tongue removed back in 2000 due to cancer, but was declared cancer-free in 2002.

In 2015 he suggested GUITAR PICKS could have been responsible . . . quote, "I used metal picks . . . they're brass and copper . . . which I always held in my mouth, in the exact place where I got the tongue cancer."

He also admitted that he used to smoke and do a lot of drugs, but he added, quote, "my lungs are totally clear."

Supposedly, cancer cells have migrated to his throat over the past five years, and he's been flying to Germany to have them scraped out. And for the most part, it's been keeping his cancer in check. (TMZ)

Slipknot’s Clown Wants To Focus On Art

·

Slipknot has had a great year since the release of their latest album “We Are Not Your Kind.” But music isn’t all that matters to percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan – now that the album is out and went number one, he’s thinking of focusing on his art.

Crahan may be best known for his role in the rock group, but he’s also directed music videos, films, acted in a movie, and led the release of Slipknot’s 2012 photo book “The Apocalyptic Nightmare.” The rocker says his mom has called him a “renaissance man,” but he likes to think of it as “artistic schizophrenia.”

“Sometimes I don’t even like to admit I’m an artist, because then maybe I become a cliché, and then my hunger for it leaves,” he tells "GQ." “[But] I’d love to make more books, have some gallery shows, and stuff like that – above all else, I really want to push myself to make some fascinating art this year.”

Hey Rod;

We stood up front of the stage waiting about 5 hours fighting off the crowd to hold down our space. Concert was awesome (I've seen them 3x on this tour) and Axl's voice seems to be getting better!

Love the show!

Kurt
