The Recording Industry Association of America released its mid-year report. And people have spent almost as much on records this year as CDs . . . $224 million in the first half of 2019, compared to $248 million on compact discs.

CD sales were basically stagnant, while vinyl record sales were up 13%. One of the most popular bands to buy on vinyl is . . .The Beatles. Last year, we bought over 300,000 of their records on vinyl.

This isn't Halford's first solo Christmas album. He did one called"Halford 3: Winter Songs"back in 2009. And he recorded a song called"Christmas Ride"with his short-lived band Flight when Judas Priest split up for a while in the '90s.

Speaking of that split,Whitfield Crane from Ugly Kid Joe recently revealed HE could've replaced Halford. The band told him the gig was his if he wanted it, but he said no. So Tim Owens held down the fort for Judas Priest from 1996 to 2003.
