Momo Challenge Gets Movie Treatment
The producer of “It” are hoping that the momo challenge, which was based on the sculpture by Keisuke Aiso, will scare as many people on the screen as it did in real life. Taka Ichise has partnered with Orion Pictures and Roy Lee’s Vertigo Entertainment to develop and produce the horror film.
For the record, the challenged centered on a mysterious figure represented by a goggle-eyed character, who was allegedly encouraging children to harm themselves. Even though it turned out to be a hoax, it utilized Aiso's piece, which itself was based on a supernatural creature found in Japanese and Chinese folklore.
