1. Listener 'Sexy" James informed us he was going to be featured on "Ink Master Angels"! He sends us an email describing his experience.
I had submitted to be on the show back 2-3 or more years ago, for a finals tattoo for regular Ink Master. I never heard anything from them until they were coming here to the Firehouse Saloon as the Angels. They heard my Hurricane Harvey stories from the disaster and picked me. I received a 6 hour tattoo from the amazing Ryan Ashley Malarkey! I had Saint Florian in mind for my Ink, however.... I told Ryan, “you’re an amazing artist! I give you full artistic freedom!”
She did not disappoint! Saint Florian is the Patron Saint of Firefighters. She researched and found a lot of Statue tattoos, so she wanted to do something original. I love the flowing of the water as a symbol for all the flooding our area endured. She also put in some fire and smoke... it’s a fluid borderless work of art.
Ryan Ashley, Nikki Simpson and Kelly Doty could not have been more cool or down to earth! So humble and caring... nothing fake about them or their personalities!!
Shout out to all of my First Responder Brothers and Sisters! I know that there were so many of you that did way more than I during this disaster, I feel blessed that somehow I was chosen... To all the victims: We are all still with you and you all remain in our prayers!
