1. A contestant on "Jeopardy" lost $3,200 the other night because he mispronounced the word "gangsta."
The answer was "Gangsta's Paradise Lost," referring to the Coolio song and the book by John Milton. But the guy pronounced it "GANGSTER'S Paradise Lost." At first they gave him credit for a correct answer, but then they took it back. From "Jeopardy" on Monday, January 1, 2018

The United Arab Emirates is known for their over-the-top New Year's Eve fireworks displays. This year they launched a 2,400-pound shell, and it set a "Guinness World Record" for largest aerial firework.
It took a 15-second climb before bursting in the sky.

4. Was This Truck Trying to Mow Down a Policeman?
It's not clear how this started, but there's a video out of Vietnam of a cop in the middle of the street trying to STOP a slowly moving truck. But the truck driver kept moving forward and was dangerously close to mowing him down.
The cop had to keep running backwards until he could jump out of the truck's path.
