Organizers in Seattle, WA had planned a Halloween day cadaver dissection class, where an autopsy would have been performed on a dead body in front of a live audience. According to coverage by KING 5 News, this Sunday's event has been cancelled.
DeathScience.org sold tickets for up to $500 to view in-person the scheduled autopsy and dissection of an actual human body in a Marriott hotel conference room. This would have been the second such event from the group. The first one took place October 17 at a Marriott hotel in Portland. Public reaction to the first show drew media coverage, questions from authorities, and a debate about the ethics of such an event.
Jeremy Cilberto, the founder of DeathScience.org, is also a popular TikTok host, podcaster, and artist. He maintains that these are educational events intended to de-stigmatize death and to let student explore the human body.
