Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston will be reuniting as part of an all-star cast in this weekend's charity table read of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. According to Variety, the show is happening this Friday on Facebook Live and TikTok. More names, and who is playing which character are still to be announced, but the list so far includes Pitt, Aniston, Sean Penn, Matthew McConaughey, Shia LeBeouf, Julia Roberts, Dane Cook, Morgan Freeman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Henry Golding.
Director Amy Heckerling and screenwriter Cameron Crowe will be on hand to introduce the reading. The only casting detail released so far is that Sean Penn will not be playing Jeff Spicoli, his iconic stoner character from the 1982 original. My guess is that Penn plays Mr. Hand, but finding out will be part of the fun. Who does Julia Roberts play in Fast Times? Who does Morgan Freeman play?!
Proceeds from the live virtual event will benefit emergency relief nonprofit CORE’s work in the fight against COVID-19 as well as criminal justice reform group Reform Alliance.
