With the delays of Fast and Furious 9, Mulan, and tons of other tentpole movie releases (not to mention that most movie theaters have shut down with no real idea when they will be able to reopen), people have been waiting to hear something on Marvel Studios' Black Widow, which was scheduled to open May 1. Disney finally made a move late yesterday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black Widow has been pulled from Disney's release schedule with no new date announced.
Since the F9 delay was announced, fans online have been debating about whether the studio might forego theaters altogether and release Black Widow on their Disney+ streaming platform. It seemed unlikely at first, but the news earlier this week, with Universal sending theatrical releases to VOD early, has made some kind of on-demand streaming release for Black Widow look a lot more plausible.
