This is amazing!

'A woman who used Metallica music to scare off Cougar in Canada. She said she later received a call from frontman James Hetfield.

Dee Gallant recently told how she faced off against the wild animal during a walk near Duncan, B.C., with her dog Murphy. After various attempts to chase it away failed, she chose the Metallica song “Don’t Tread on Me” from her phone playlist, and the music forced the cougar to flee.

“I would love to contact them someday and tell James Hetfield that he saved my life," Gallant said – and her opportunity came after a member of the band’s team made contact with her and told her to expect an important call.

“I was a little bit lost for words,” she toldCTV Newsafter realizing she was speaking to Hetfield. “It’s surreal how quickly it happened and how far it’s gone. The fact that he’s so down to earth and such a great person – I’m very pleased to fund that out firsthand. I can't believe he knows my dog's name! If you’d told the 18-year-old me that this would happen, I never would have believed it. I would have just fallen out of my skin with excitement.”

The singer and guitarist followed up by sending Gallant a selfie along with the message, “Thought you might like some confirmation that it was me.” You can watch a TV news report below.' - UCR
