This week NASA seemingly tried to kickstart the internet's meme machine by showing off a new photo of Jupiter's "face" on Twitter, and as expected a few NASA fans ran with it.
According to NASA's official site, the image was taken in May from the Juno spacecraft 12,075 miles away from Jupiter. Later it was processed by citizen scientist Jason Major.
He titled it "Jovey McJupiterface" for its jovial smile. The original image was rotated 180 degrees and the face was found, with two white oval storms becoming the eyes.
