The senior class of Morristown Central School was set to go on the vacation of their dreams, a class trip to Puerto Rico.
According to WWNYTV, after months of fundraising, the 11 students raised $20,000 and planned their trip.
Early Friday morning, the students boarded a bus at Morristown Central and headed to the Syracuse Airport.
"As soon as we got there we looked up and the Newark, New Jersey sign says flights been canceled and everyone was like, what, what's going on. And they told us that if you go if you drive right now to Newark, we can jump on our second flight," said Haley Whitmarsh, a senior.
The group rented four cars and drove to Newark but by the time they arrived, United had given away our flights" according to Whitmarsh.
