Some Businesses Closed on 'Day Without Immigrants' ...

'The hip taco restaurant had some backlash as well as some support on its Facebook post, which didn't seem to take a position on the issue or even directly reference the movement.

"It seems sad for your employees that are immigrants who I'm sure are here legally that they will lose a day of work because of this," wrote one person. "Thank you for your support! This is a day without immigrants. So that maybe we can all be a little more grateful. No one said anything about illegal immigrants," wrote another.' via khou

This is what some people had to say ...

Kate Prejean I was coming in for lunch today but will come back another day. I fully support this protest.

Joseph Grey If you are complaining, then immigrants actually DO make a difference in your life!

Patricia Gonzalez I will visit torchy's more often! Some of us understand the difference between illegal and legal immigrants. We don't assume they the same thing. This is about making people aware of how many immigrants work legally in our city and without them certain industries are affected.

Tina Carway Their message is vague, at best! It doesn't say their supporting Immigration Day and proudly closing their doors to support such a cause and it doesn't even say they are against it and their staff just isn't coming in......it just has everyone speculating and being rude to one another.

Nick Quinn The double edge sword is, with an "open boarders" policy it makes replacing those that decided to not show up today that much more easier.

Beth Cummings Thank you for doing this! I can't come by tomorrow, but will do so next week. ...and all because of this post. I love you for it!

John Herrera Torchy's is open but the real taquerias are still open. I think ya'll are doing this protest wrong...
