MUSIC: The Estate of Late Drummer Joey Jordison is Taking Slipknot to Court

The estate of late drummer Joey Jordison is taking Slipknot to court.

The estate of late Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison is dragging the band to court. A lawsuit launched against the band, and specifically frontman Corey Taylor and percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan, claims the group took advantage of the rocker’s 2021 death to promote their new album.

“While family, friends and fans mourned the loss of the legendary drummer, neither bandmate expressed condolences to Jordison’s family after his passing,” alleges the suit. “Instead, Taylor and Crahan heartlessly sought to profit off of Jordison’s death.” The charges go on to accuse the rocker duo of lying to fans about checking in on the drummer’s family, saying “they cared only about drumming up publicity and sales of the new album.”

The estate also claims that Taylor and Crahan have kept possessions that they promised to release to Jordison. “At least 22 items,” including “musical instruments, gear and wardrobe,” have allegedly been held onto by the pair and featured in the band’s “Knottiest” video.

Evanescence Drops New Video For "Yeah Right"

Evanescence Drops New Video For "Yeah Right”: Nearly three years later, Evanescence has released a video for their single “Yeah Right.” The track was originally featured on 2021’s “The Bitter Truth,” the band’s first LP release of original music in ten years. The video was reportedly shot this past October, as Evanescence toured Latin America with director/editor Eric Richter.

Blake Shelton is Catching Heat For a Pre-Recorded NYE Performance on CBS.

The “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash” was a showstopper for the year 2023 on CBS, but one performance is catching some heat. Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins reunited on the show and performed some of their classics like “Hillbilly Bone.” The problem is the word “Live” in the name of the CBS show because Shelton hit the stage in Oklahoma just a few minutes after the televised performance that was supposedly live in Nashville.

Social media lit up with people calling Shelton out, with one person posting on X, “He must have one fast a** tour bus!” On the bright side, he got great reviews for his actual live set in Oklahoma, where he rang in 2024 with “Goodbye Time.”
