Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns just got some bad news. The NFL and the NFL Players Association have decided on Deshaun's official punishment . . . and it's worse than the initial recommendation.
He's suspended for 11 games and will pay a $5 million fine. He also has to undergo a "professional evaluation by behavioral experts and will follow their treatment program."
Even though Deshaun agreed to all this, he's not admitting to anything. Quote, "I'm moving on with my career and my life, and I'm going to continue to stand on my innocence.
"Just because settlements and things like that happen doesn't mean that person is guilty of anything."
Browns co-owner Jimmy Haslam said quote, "People deserve second chances. Is he never supposed to play again? Is he never supposed to be part of society? Does he get no chance to rehabilitate himself?
"And that's what we're going to do. That doesn't mean we don't have empathy for people affected, and we will continue to do so."
When people questioned Haslam and the whole "second chance" narrative, he actually admitted, quote, "You can say that's because he's a star quarterback. Well, of course." (???)
Watson is accused of sexual misconduct with more than TWO DOZEN women during massage therapy sessions.
