Pearl Jam Return To The Stage After Eddie Vedder's Throat Issues

After canceling three European shows after Eddie Vedder damaged his throat during their Paris concert, Pearl Jam made their triumphant return to the stage Sunday night, playing what was supposed to be their second show in Amsterdam.

The concert, the final night of their European tour, featured a 21-song set that started out acoustically and featured such songs as “Better Man,” “Even Flow,” “Why Go,” “Alive,” “W.M.A.” and more. It also included a cover of Prince’s “Purple Rain,” which was sung by both Eddie and Josh Klinghoffer, a cover of KISS’ “Black Diamond,” which was partially song by drummer Matt Cameron and more.

Eddie said he was originally informed that he’d need two weeks to recover but told the crowd he said, “I’m not gonna f**kin’ leave this part of the world without playing one more show.” He also thanked Dr. Marco Frankenfurt, who treated him even by showing fans pictures of them on the video screens.

  • Pearl Jam has a break now but are due to kick off their North American tour on September 1st in Quebec, Canada.

Rob Halford Has Mixed Feelings About Judas Priest Getting the Rock Hall's "Musical Excellence Award"

Judas Priest gets into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, but not the way most other acts do. They're getting the "Musical Excellence Award". And Rob Halford still isn't sure how to feel about it.

At first, he admits he was, quote, "pissed". But now he goes back and forth. He says, quote, "Some days, I go, 'No, it doesn't matter. We're in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Be grateful. Shut the hell up.'

"And then there are other days where I'm like, '[Gosh] damn, why did they give us the Musical Excellence Award?'"

Halford says it's frustrating, because he feels like Priest is still, quote, "one step away" from a proper Hall of Fame induction.
