Elton John Moved Metallica’s James Hetfield to Tears

JAMES HETFIELD was moved to tears when ELTON JOHN said "Nothing Else Matters" is, quote, "one of the best songs ever written."

Elton performs the song with MILEY CYRUS on that new "Metallica Blacklist" album. And during an appearance on "The Howard Stern Show", he had tons of praise for the song AND the band.

Elton said, quote, "It's a song that never gets old. And playing on this track, I just couldn't wait. The chord structure . . . the melodies . . . the time changes . . . it's got drama written all over it." (Hear his cover with Miley here.)

He added, quote, "Metallica is probably the crème de la crème of that kind of bands . . .Their songs aren't just heavy metal.

They’re beautiful songs. ["Nothing Else Matters"] is such a melodic song. It's [effing] great, actually."

The Foo Fighters Thanked Kurt Loder and J.J. Jackson at the "VMAs"

Once a year, MTV nudges the pregnant teens aside and acknowledges that the "M" in its name USED TO stand for "Music". They do this by hosting the "MTV Video Music Awards". This year's ceremony went down last night.

The FOO FIGHTERS won the U.S. Global Icon Award, and DAVE GROHL used his very short acceptance speech to kind of poke fun at MTV basically having nothing to do with music anymore.

He thanked all the "past and present" people at MTV, like Kurt Loder, Tabitha Soren, Matt Pinfield, and J.J. Jackson . . . whom he mistakenly called J.J. JOHNSON before his band corrected him.

Of course, NONE of these people have anything to do with MTV's "present".

There weren't really any other jaw-dropping moments . . .

but the night ended on a vomit-inducing note when Megan Fox and Kourtney Kardashian introduced Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker as their "future baby daddies."

(But was that worse than when Megan and MGK licked each other's tongues? Discuss.)

Foo Fighters' "Everlong" Returns To Chart, Adds Post VMA Brooklyn Show

In 1997, the Foo Fighter’s hit “Everlong” climbed the Billboard charts, and now it’s doing it again thanks to 11-year-old drummer Nandi Bushell. She caught Dave Grohl’s attention last year on Twitter, posting her cover of “Everlong” and challenging Grohl to a drum battle. The former Nirvana frontman accepted, and Bushnell held her own.

on August 26th, Grohl had Bushnell come on stage to play drums for “Everlong,” and she nailed it. Since then, the song is trending on the charts again, landing at number 19 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, number two on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, and 17 on the Hot Alternative Songs chart.

  • But that's not all. The band is in full motion; as we told you, the Foos were honored at last night's MTV VMAs with the Global Icon Award, and since they were in Brooklyn for the honor they decided to announce a new show. The band is set to headline the Coney Island Amphitheater tonight.

STP/Bush Cancel Co-Headlining Tour

Stone Temple Pilots and Bush have now canceled their upcoming U.S. co-headlining tour that was set to kick off at the end of the month in Mesa, Arizona. Not only that, but when Bush made the announcement on Friday, they also canceled the band’s planned festival appearances.

Why did they cancel? According to the announcement, it was due to “unfortunate and unavoidable COVID-related circumstances.” Stone Temple Pilots fall headlining tour is still set to begin as planned, except for the October 9th date in Chattanooga that’s been removed from the tour dates.

Commenting on the cancellations, Stone Temple Pilots said, “We are of course saddened by this news, but it’s a sign of the times right now.”
