Whoa, Miley Cyrus Is Making A Metallica Covers Album

Miley Cyrus has been performing a lot of covers lately, including Blondie’s “Heart of Glass,” The Cranberries’ “Zombie” and more. Well, now it appears she’s working on a covers album, dedicated solely to covers of Metallica songs.

“We’ve been working on a Metallica cover album and I’m here working on that,” she shares in an interview with fashion designer Rick Owens for “Interview” magazine. “We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this,” adding, “At first, it felt uninspiring and now I’ve been totally ignited.”

And in the same interview, Miley claims she has had at least one experience with beings she suspects were not from this planet. "I was driving through San Bernardino with my friend, and I got chased down by some sort of UFO," she said, adding, "I’m pretty sure about what I saw, but I’d also bought weed wax from a guy in a van in front of a taco shop, so it could have been the weed wax." She adds, "But the best way to describe it is a flying snowplow. It had this big plow in the front of it and was glowing yellow. I did see it flying, and my friend saw it, too. There were a couple of other cars on the road and they also stopped to look, so I think what I saw was real."

.

And speaking of that Cranberries cover, Miley debuted during her #SaveOurStages fest performance.

It seems members of the Cranberries were totally impressed. “We were delighted to hear of Miley Cyrus’ cover of Zombie at the Whisky a Go Go #SOSFEST in LA at the weekend,” they shared on social media. “It’s one of the finest covers of the song that we’ve heard. We think Dolores would be very impressed!”

The album, which features such Linkin Park hits as “Crawling” and “In The End,” saw a 2,251% increase in sales, moving over 17,000 copies to re-enter the “Billboard” Album sales chart at three.

"Hybrid Theory" has not ranked this high on the "Billboard" chart since it was released in 2002, when it peaked at two.

Foo Fighters Release Second 25th Anniversary Merch Collection

The Foo Fighters were supposed to go on a special “Van Tour” this year to celebrate the band’s 25th anniversary. Of course, that didn’t happen because of the coronavirus, but that doesn’t mean they’re not still celebrating their big milestone.

The band has just released a second 25th anniversary merch capsule, featuring, “previously archived & new designs, artwork from album packaging or a re-imagination of existing art honoring each full length studio album and more!”

According to the band’s online store, “Some of these items have gone through special garment washes which make each piece unique,” noting, "A lot of these items will be limited, so once they’re gone, they’re gone."
