Music: Myles Kennedy Covers “Hallelujah” On Jeff Buckley’s Guitar

Myles Kennedy Covers “Hallelujah” On Jeff Buckley’s Guitar

Myles Kennedy has said before that Jeff Buckley was a huge influence on his sound. So it must have been an extra special moment for the rocker when he got to cover “Hallelujah” on one of Buckley’s guitars.

During Kennedy’s band Alter Bridge’s recent concert at Paris’ L’Olympia, Kennedy got the chance to play the late music legend’s actual 1983 Telecaster guitar. The venue was the same place that Buckley recorded his historic 2001 live album.

Before launching into “Hallelujah,” the Leonard Cohen tune famously covered by Buckley, Kennedy dedicated the song to the late musician. “[He was] probably one of my biggest influences,” Kennedy said. “We owe a great debt [to him.]”

Huey Lewis Considered Suicide When He Found Out He Couldn't Perform Anymore

HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS recently released a new song called "Her Love is Killin' Me", and they have a new album on the way. But it'll most likely be their last, and they won't be touring to support it.

That's because Huey has an inner-ear disease that causes fluctuating deafness, and he can't sing anymore. When he was first diagnosed in 2018, he immediately went to a dark place.

He says, quote, "I was suicidal. I can honestly share that with you. I thought . . . I'm just going to commit suicide. I actually contemplated my demise. You know, like pills. I figured pills were the easiest way to go."

But he got through it with the help of his fans . . . quote, "The letters I get, the support I get from people, ordinary people, is amazing. When you [make music], you don't think about that. You do it because you're just writing a song.

"You're having fun, and you don't realize you're affecting people's lives."
