New in Theaters: "Shazam!" and the "Pet Sematary" Remake

"Shazam!" (PG-13)

"Shazam!"is what would happen if a kid like the one from"Big"turned into a super powered Zachary Levi instead of Tom Hanks. But at least in this he can transform back and forth between bodies just by repeating the magic word.

"Pet Sematary" (R)

Jason Clarke and John Lithgow star in this remake of theStephen King horror classic about a hidden cemetery that can bring things back from the dead.

Some die-hard fans are upset about the change, but the critics seem to agree that this plot twist is part of what makes this version work even better than the original.

3. "The Best of Enemies" (PG-13)

Believe it or not, this is based on a true story . . .

Taraji P. Henson plays civil rights activist Ann Atwater and Sam Rockwell is C.P. Ellis, a violent leader of the Ku Klux Klan in 1971 North Carolina.

Lindsay Lohan Still Seems to Think She Should Be the "Little Mermaid"

LINDSAY LOHAN doesn't just WANT to play Ariel in a new version of"The Little Mermaid". . . she treats it like it's her BIRTHRIGHT. Even though we all know nobody in their right mind is going to give her that opportunity.

Still, she wasn't the least bit happy when she heard that LEA MICHELE got the part for a live version of the story at the Hollywood Bowl next month.

Lindsay saw a post about it on Instagram and dropped a simple, three-letter comment: "Huh?"

The big movie out this weekend is "Shazam!" Did you know it was a TV show in the late 70's? Here's the theme.

The announcer quickly explains the senario, the teenager yells "Shazam!" and turns into Captain Marvel. A GUY version of Captain Marvel. From DC Comics. They had the character 30 years before it became a Marvel comics character. It's complicated.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER and LINDA HAMILTON hyped their upcoming flick"Terminator: Dark Fate"at CinemaCon, an annual meeting of theater owners and movie studios. And Arnold posted a picture of himself in character.

"Avengers: Endgame" Could Have a $250 Million Opening

The latest projections have"Avengers: Endgame"opening at between $200 million and $250 million. But it could go a lot higher.

Last year,"Infinity War"was expected to make $180 million to $225 million in its opening weekend . . . but it ended up with $257.6 million, which is the current opening weekend record.

"Endgame" COULD blow that out of the water when it opens in three weeks.
