A 60-Ton Animatronic Dinosaur Got Struck by Lightning

Firefighters in Kansas responded just in time to prevent the SECOND extinction of the dinosaurs.

There's a theme park in Kansas called "Field Station: Dinosaurs," and last weekend, there was a storm . . . and lightning struck a 60-ton, 100-foot-long "Sauroposeidon" animatronic dinosaur at the park.

That dinosaur was destroyed . . . but fire crews were able to prevent a mass extinction by containing the blaze before it spread to the other 39 dinosaurs.

One official at Field Station joked, "It's the first dinosaur fire in almost 63 million years . . . they had to be on their game." Some people are going to the park this week just to "pay their respects."

The dinosaur COULD be restored, but it would require a rebuild that could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars . . . so they may find another way to utilize it, as a more "skeletal" attraction.
