Bluegrass artist Billy Strings opened up to fans on Monday (April 20) about his weekend show not going exactly as he planned.
Just before his encore at his sold-out concert in Virginia last weekend, the musician broke his leg while skateboarding.
The Grammy-winning artist took to Instagram to share photos of himself in a hospital bed with a cast on his leg. "Well, can't say y'all didn't warn me about screwing around on my skateboard!" he captioned the post.
The "Home" singer explained that part of his show routine involves him riding his skateboard backstage, though this time, things went sideways - literally.
"Saturday night I walked off stage right before the encore I was all zazzed up from a really fun show," he continued writing. "I grabbed my board and tried to do a trick I've done a million times (back 180) and landed awkwardly and broke my leg. I heard it snap over the screaming crowd! It's been an interesting couple days to say the least."
Despite having to reschedule his remaining upcoming shows, the musician noted that he was on the mend, thanks to the hospital staff.
"I should probably let this thing heal," he admitted. "I don't believe I could give you guys the show you deserve coming right out of this surgery... what are ya gonna do, you know? The remaining Spring shows are being rescheduled to later this year. I promise I will make it up to you. See you this summer."
