Tiger Woods announced yesterday that he's getting help. He said, quote, "I know and I understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health."
He added that he's taking whatever time is needed to, quote, "return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally."
It's not clear what he's seeking treatment for, since he claims his only transgression was looking down at his phone. Also, he pleaded not guilty to the charges yesterday.
Tiger Woods' Driver's License Has a "Safe Driver" Notification on It
The police report from Tiger Woods' arrest was filed yesterday. Here's what we learned from it:
Tiger told the cops he was looking down at his phone just before the crash. But he showed signs of impairment and failed a series of roadside sobriety tests.
Police say his eyes were "bloodshot and glassy" and his pupils were "extremely dilated."
They found two hydrocodone pills in his pants pocket. They were "collected and submitted into evidence." He admitted to taking medications for high blood pressure and cholesterol, plus ibuprofen and Vicodin.
Here's the kicker: A copy of Tiger's driver's license is included with the report, and it has the words "Safe Driver" on it.
This means that Tiger had a clean driving record for at least three years. His last crash was in 2021.
