Mt. Joy Brings Out Special Guest For Unforgettable ALTer EGO Performance

Mt. Joy enlisted the help of a surprise guest for an unforgettable festival performance.

The band hit the stage at Kia Forum near Los Angeles on Saturday (January 17) for 2026 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO presented by Capital One, commanding the crowd with a four-song set starting with "Lucy," a song from their 2025 album Hope We Have Fun and one that "means a lot" to the group, according to singer Matt Quinn.

Fellow ALTer EGO performer Gigi Perez joined Mt. Joy on stage for their next song, soulfully singing along with "In The Middle," also from the band's latest album. The group concluded their set by throwing it back to their 2018 self-titled album, first with "Astrovan," which Quinn described as "a goofy song about all the dreamers in Los Angeles," and then rounding out the performance with a soulful rendition of "Silver Lining."

Mt. Joy, which formed in 2016, is preparing to hit the road for a new world tour to celebrate 10 years together. Kicking off in New Zealand in February, the band will travel to Australia and London before heading back to the U.S. in April for its North American leg, running through the fall and wrapping up in October 3 in Chicago.

"10 years since we first jammed into a rehearsal space Soti had locked out to practice drums... not much has changed tbh, we just keep pushing to make music we love for anyone kind enough to care," the band wrote on Instagram in December. "Now we just do it in iconic venues to the best fans in the world. It's party time."

In addition to Mt. Joy, the 2026 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO including show-stopping performances from Green Day, Twenty One Pilots, Cage the Elephant, Gigi Perez, Sublime, Almost Monday and Good Charlotte, who took the stage in L.A. for the first time in a decade.
