Kellogg's CEO Says Feed Your Kids Cereal for Dinner?

Is this just a money grab, or do you think it's actually okay advice? The CEO of Kellogg's is catching heat for saying you could save a lot of money . . . by feeding your kids cereal for DINNER.

People have been tearing into him on social media after he said it on CNBC last week. Quote, "If you think about cereal for a family versus what they might otherwise do, that's going to be much more affordable."

He's not wrong. A bowl of cereal can cost less than a buck . . . especially if you skip the Kellogg's and go generic. But obviously things like Froot Loops and Apple Jacks aren't exactly "health" foods.

Even one of the CNBC hosts said telling people to eat Frosted Flakes for supper might "land the wrong way" with consumers. But he didn't think so, because it's already something plenty of Americans do.

He said he expects it to become an even bigger trend as more and more consumers find themselves "under pressure" financially.

Kellogg's is already pushing the idea in ads. There's a recent one where Tony the Tiger gets a family of four to chant "cereal dinner" over and over again.
