Corey Taylor Shares Mental Health Update: "I Kinda Don't Recognize Myself"
One of rock’s busiest men (aka Slipknot frontman and successful solo artist Corey Taylor) announced he needed to slow down. And now the rocker is speaking out about his concerns for his mental health.
“I’m just going to break it down for you,” began the singer, after admitting he recognized fans’ confusion over the cancelation of his North American solo tour. “I, over the last year, have had a complete and utter breakdown of boundaries, mental health, ego, entitlement… the whole nine yards, culminating in a very, very real, very near relapse.”
Taylor further confessed his struggle got to the point that “I kinda don’t recognize myself” and that he “wanted to address this and just tell people that I needed time to reset.” The rocker did confirm he’s keeping a four-show run of dates in Southeast Asia as a test round then “take it day by day basically.”
