99% of Americans Have a Local Mexican Restaurant

Some people were worried that Mexicans were coming to steal our jobs . . . but we should've been more concerned about them coming to steal our STOMACHS.  (???)

According to new data from the Pew Research Center, a whopping 99% of Americans have a local Mexican restaurant. "Local" is within same COUNTY . . . meaning you don't have to cross any borders to get your taco fix: Federal, state, or local.

Overall, 85% of U.S. counties have a Mexican restaurant, but the 15% that don't are so sparsely populated that, together, they only have 4 million people, which is about 1% of the population.

As of last year, there were more than 788,000 restaurants in America . . . and more than 80,000 of them served Mexican food. That's about 11%. And more than half of them are in California, Texas, Illinois, New York, and Florida.

There are a lot of benefits to Mexican food . . . (in addition to it subjectively being delicious) . . . like being generally quick, easy, and affordable.

As for PRICE, only 251 Mexican restaurants nationwide are rated on Yelp with three or four dollar signs. That would be LESS than 1% of them. 61% were listed with just one dollar sign.

Naturally, a decent chunk of the pricey Mexican restaurants are in expensive urban areas:  L.A. County . . . Cook County, where Chicago is located . . . and New York County.
