UPDATE...On Criminal Who Dove Over the Bench and Attacked a Judge in Court

 

 

Have you seen this crazy footage yet?  A convicted felon launched himself over the bench in a courtroom in Las Vegas on Wednesday, and attacked the judge.  Her name is Judge Mary Kay Holthus, and she's 62.  Thankfully, it sounds like she'll be okay.

 

 

The guy who attacked her is 30-year-old Deobra Redden.  He has a LONG rap sheet with at least three felonies, 10 misdemeanors, and multiple domestic violence convictions.

 

 

The same judge sentenced him to a year of probation last February, and he violated that in October.  So she sentenced him to 106 days in jail, and then he missed a court date for ANOTHER charge last month.

 

 

He was hoping for probation again, and attacked the judge when it became clear that wasn't going to happen.  (Warning: Lots of profanity.  Here's a clip.  The full video

A Fight Over a Restaurant's 18% Gratuity Policy Ended with Pepper Spray

 

 

I know we're all sick of being asked to tip for EVERYTHING.  But can we still agree tipping waiters is something you should do?

 

 

A group of 10 people went out to eat at a seafood place in South Bend, Indiana, called Wild Crab on Monday.  And they had a scheme to try to AVOID leaving a tip.

 

 

Like a lot of places, the restaurant automatically adds 18% gratuity for groups of six people or more.  So the 10 people split up into groups of five . . . sat at two different tables . . . and pretended they didn't know each other.

 

 

It sounds like they weren't sneaky enough with it, because employees caught on and added the 18% gratuity anyway.  And that caused a huge fight.

 

 

They demanded to speak to a manager.  Then someone in the group pulled out some PEPPER SPRAY . . . used it on a manager . . . then used it on another manager while being kicked out.

 

 

The restaurant called the cops to file a report, and paramedics treated the two people who got pepper sprayed.  No word on any charges yet.
