"The Santa Claus" is a fun, family film . . . a holiday classic, if you will. But did you know that when it first hit theaters, it prompted children to call a SEX HOTLINE?
When the movie first hit theaters in 1994, there was a scene where Tim Allen's ex-wife is dropping their son off to him.
And she gives Tim a slip of paper containing the number of her new man's mother's house . . . in case he needs to reach her in an emergency.
Tim looks at the paper and sarcastically says, quote, "1-800-SPANK-ME? I know that number!"
But even though it was only a joke, 1-800-SPANK-ME turned out to be a legit sex line. And people complained that their kids were calling it after seeing the movie.
The scene still made it into VHS and LaserDisc versions of the movie, but finally, Disney removed it from subsequent VHS releases.
It's also never appeared on a DVD or Blu-ray release . . . or on the version streaming on the Disney Channel.
And, for the record, 1-800-SPANK-ME is STILL a sex hotline.
