MUSIC NEWS: Mark Tremonti Is Working Towards New Creed Music

Mark Tremonti Is Working Towards New Creed Music:

As we previously told you, Creed’s comeback became official once they announced their reunion tour (and some festival appearances). But there’s one thing the band seems to have forgotten… new music. Well, most of them anyway. Guitarist Mark Tremonti, who spent the band’s quiet years jamming with Alter Bridge and his own Tremonti, says he’s been saving some music specially for their reunion. “When I’m writing songs… I’m like ‘that would be a great Creed song,’ and I kind of hold it aside.”

What was the first concert you ever saw?  A list came out of famous rock artists' first shows.

Sting saw Jimi Hendrix in 1967. Maybe that's why Sting did this cover of Jimi's classic, "Little Wing". (It's on Sting's 1987 album, "Nothing Like the Sun".)

Ace Frehley Trashed the New KISS Holograms

I was wondering if Ace Frehley and Peter Criss would make any money once those KISS holograms start touring. And it sounds like they won't. Because Ace just trashed the idea.

He said, quote, "I don't get this avatar thing that they're gonna do. I mean, I saw some of it on a video on YouTube last night. It kind of looked like it, you know, was geared towards children.

"And it's not rock and roll. I get up on stage without backing tracks, plug my guitar into a Marshall and go. That's it. It's always been that way and always will be."

Irish Singer Shane MacGowan Covered the Bar Tab at His Own Funeral

Tell me this isn't the most Irish thing you've ever heard:

Shane MacGowan of the Celtic punk band The Pogues died last month, and was laid to rest last Friday at a church in Dublin. Mourners included Nick CaveJohnny DeppBob Geldof, and the president of Ireland.

After the funeral, there was a small, invite-only celebration at a pub called The Thatched Cottage. There's no word who was there, but one thing we know is that they didn't have to pay for their drinks.

Shane took care of that. Before his death, he had set aside $12,500 for the tab. A friend of his says, quote, "It was Shane's last request."
