McDonald’s is Making More Than 50 Changes To its Burgers Next Year.

McDonald’s is making more than 50 changes to its burgers, including the Big Mac, McDouble, classic cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, and hamburger, in early 2024. The changes include the use of properly toasted, softer buns, cooking onions directly on the burger patties, perfectly melted cheese, and more. These changes will be the biggest improvements in these core menu items in decades. 

McDonald’s has received tons of complaints over high prices recently and this could be an attempt to silence critics with higher quality products that compete with chains such as Five Guys and Shake Shack. Chris Young, senior director of global menu strategy for McDonald’s said “We can currently do burgers quick, fast, and safe, but it doesn’t necessarily taste great. So, we want to incorporate quality into where we’re at.” 

Not all details have been announced but expect beef patties cooked in smaller batches for a more consistent sear, more Big Mac sauce, fresher lettuce and pickles, meltier cheese, and new buttery brioche buns with sesame seeds. The new changes began rolling out earlier this year on the West Coast and in the Midwest this summer, so look for them at your local Mickey D’s in early 2024.

• Jinglebread Classic Mini – a bite-sized version of Classic Jinglebread with blended ginger and molasses dough with a sprinkle of cinnamon. 
• Jinglebread Blondie – a gingerbread-flavored blondie base with cream cheese swirl throughout. 
• Jinglebread Lil’ Dipper – twelve Jinglebread Classic Minis with a side of cream cheese icing. 
• Jinglebread Big Dipper – four Classic Jinglebread cookies with cream cheese icing. 
• Featured Jinglebread 10” Cookie Cake – a classic Jinglebread cookie with your choice of 4 holiday cake center messages applies with buttercream icing and your choice of decorative icing. The cake is served in a festive holiday box sleeve. 

The Jinglebread Collection is available through December 31 or while supplies last at participating Insomnia Cookies locations nationwide.
