People Are Defending Dolly Parton's Thanksgiving Day Cheerleader Outfit

People are still discussing Dolly Parton's halftime performance at the Cowboys-Commanders game on Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, they're focusing on the wrong thing.

But instead of discussing the actual performance, which was terrific, they're calling her out for wearing a Dallas Cowboys cheerleading outfit . . . and the comments are pure ageism.

One person shared a pic of her and said, "Are you okay with 77-year-old Dolly Parton dressing like a 20-year-old cheerleader?"

Someone else wrote, "77-year-old women shouldn't be on stage pretending they're 20. They should be at home spending time with loved ones and family. We need to stop normalizing this behavior."

Fortunately, there are plenty of Dolly defenders. Her sister Stella Parton wrote this on X, "I thought my big sister Dolly was cute as hell. To those of you being so critical of a 77-year-old kicking up her heels, I say go [eff] yourself."

The ladies of "The View" also went off.  Whoopi Goldberg said, "77-year-old superstar Dolly Parton stole the show at the Thanksgiving game dressed as a Cowboys cheerleader, but some critics told her to act her age. BITE ME."

Co-host Sunny Hostin added, "As far as Dolly is concerned if I look like that in one of them Cowboy things, I might have everything out."

Meanwhile. . . "Rockstar" has become Dolly's biggest album ever. It debuted at Number Three on the Billboard 200 chart, which is her highest ever on that chart. But that's just the beginning . . .

It debuted at NUMBER ONE on SIX other Billboard charts. Those being . . . Top Country Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, and Billboard Independent Albums charts.
