A Guy Carjacked a Lyft Driver After Booking the Ride Under His Name
Pull off the perfect crime, and no one ever knows your name. That said . . .
Jermiah Charles is 19 years old. He carjacked a Lyft driver in Miami last month and drove off in her Toyota Corolla. She says he started punching her from the backseat until she got out. But thankfully, she's okay.
Again, his name is Jermiah Verdon Charles. And we know that because . . . he ordered the Lyft under his OWN NAME.
He stole the car after booking a ride through the app. So the driver just gave cops his info, and that's how they tracked him down. They arrested him at home and found the car parked a block away.
Jermiah denied everything and claimed he hadn't even taken a Lyft that day, but they had the records. A community center's security cam also got him on video.
He's facing charges for robbery and carjacking.
