I guess EVERYBODY has a memoir coming out these days. That includes John Stamos. His is called "If You Would Have Told Me," and it includes a pretty serious revelation.
John says he was molested by a babysitter when he was 10 or 11. The perpetrator was a woman who was 18 or 19. His response at the time was to pretend to be asleep.
He says, quote, "It's a phenomenon called the freeze response . . . When a child is vulnerable or can't escape, there can be a sort of playing possum effect. Don't move, don't speak, and just wait until things get normal again."
And he felt he had to talk about it because, quote, "unless I was a hundred percent forthcoming, what am I doing this for, right?"
John ALMOST told the story in 2018, when he was accepting an award for his advocacy on behalf of abused children.
But he decided, quote, "No, tonight is not about me. It's about the kids. I'm going to pack it away again until the right moment."
Also in the book, John talks about how much he HATED Rebecca Romijn after they split. He says he held onto that hatred "way too long," and he eventually came to realize he was also at fault.
