Candace Kanavel will represent Arizona in the Miss USA Pageant tonight . . . which will make her the competition's first law enforcement officer.
She's a hostage negotiator on the SWAT team in Tempe. But unlike Sandra Bullock in the movie, she's NOT undercover. At least that's what she SAYS. But if she was, why would she admit it?
She says quote, "When I'm in my police uniform, I'm empowered to help people.
And when I'm in my sash and crown, I'm empowered to help people. And so I'm doing the same job, just in a different uniform."
