A Raging River of Red Wine Flowed Through the Streets of Portugal

If they plan to do this next time, I'll make sure to book a plane ticket:  A town in Portugal had a flash flood over the weekend.  But it wasn't because of rain or even water.  The streets were flooded with RED WINE.

The town of Levira is near the coast, about 150 miles north of Lisbon.  There's a big distillery there.  And on Sunday, two holding tanks full of wine broke open, and spilled around 600,000 GALLONS of red wine into the streets.

The distillery is still looking into what happened but took full responsibility and said they'll cover the clean-up.  Luckily, no one was hurt.  But at least one person's basement flooded.

There's a video all over social media of a raging river of wine flowing down a street.

There's also a version with Adele riding down it in an innertube.  Someone took a screenshot from her "I Drink Wine" music video.

The jokes have been coming fast and fierce:

One person said they'd just lie in the street with their mouth open.  Another joked you could clean it up in 15 minutes if you flew in a bunch of "middle-aged suburban moms."
