The Alamo and a Giant T-Rex Pay Tribute to Pee-Wee Herman

Filming sites from "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" are paying their respects to the passing of Paul Reubens.

If you remember, in the movie, Pee-Wee goes to the Alamo in Texas after a fortune teller falsely tells him his bike is there in the basement.

Well, the Alamo posted a statement saying, quote, "Since 1985, not a day has passed without visitors consistently inquiring about the location of the basement at the Alamo . . .

"This tradition owes its origins to the comedic acting of Mr. Paul Reubens.  We are immensely grateful for his unforgettable contribution to Alamo pop culture . . .

"However, we can confirm that while there is not a basement in the Alamo Church, there is one next door, under our gift shop!  May he rest in peace."

Another scene from the movie features a large T-Rex sculpture from Cabazon Dinosaurs in southern California.  Mr. Rex was repainted to wear the iconic grey suit and red bow tie, with a red heart and Pee-Wee's name on his belly.

For those interested in seeing the Pee-Wee tribute, it'll be up until October 30th.
