An Amusement Park Ride Malfunctioned and Wouldn't Stop
In every line for an amusement park ride, there's that one person who's nervous and wants to back out.Ā Ā Hopefully, they did before this one . . .
Ā A ride in New York malfunctioned last weekend and WOULDN'T STOP.Ā Ā It happened at Playland Park, just outside New York City.
The ride is called "Music Express."Ā Ā It's a common one at fairs and carnivals.Ā Ā You go in a circle . . . forward or reverse . . . and usually with music blaring.
Ā It got stuck going BACKWARDS at full speed, and the emergency shut-off didn't work.Ā Ā Maintenance workers eventually stopped it by disconnecting the power.
Ā The ride usually lasts two to three minutes but goes at least twice that long.Ā Ā A few reports said over TEN minutes.Ā Ā Whatever it was, one guy said it felt like "an eternity."Ā Ā Kids were crying after the ride, and parents were upset.Ā Ā Luckily, no one got hurt, though.Ā Ā
Ā The park blamed it on an "electrical malfunction."Ā Ā They shut the ride down and reached out to the manufacturer to make sure it doesn't happen again.Ā Ā
