A Rattlesnake Accidentally Ate a Mousetrap

Ever eaten a really big meal and regretted it?

A rattlesnake in New Mexico had emergency surgery after biting off more than it could chew.  Or really, more than it could digest.

Someone found it shortly after it swallowed a mouse . . . along with the TRAP the mouse was caught in.

An animal rescue place posted photos.  You can clearly see the outline of the mousetrap in its stomach.

It was one of those classic wood traps with a bar that snaps down.  The trap was about four inches long and two inches wide.

They were able to do surgery and remove the trap.  Last we heard, the rattlesnake was doing great.  The mouse obviously is not.  (The State / NY Post)
