Someone's Egg McMuffin Had a Rubber Gloved Baked into It
This would certainly make your breakfast a little less appetizing: McDonald's is investigating after a woman in Australia found pieces of a RUBBER GLOVE baked into her Egg McMuffin.
She posted a photo. It was a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, and you can clearly see a piece of greenish-blue rubber or plastic in there.
The weird part is it was baked into the English muffin itself, and they get those pre-made. So maybe it happened at the factory where they're baked?
She'd already eaten half of it when she took another bite, and it felt weird going down. She says it scratched her throat, and her throat still hurt three days later.
She went back to the restaurant immediately, but says they didn't take it too seriously. They just offered her a new McMuffin, so she got in touch with corporate.
McDonald's told her they'd look into it and get back to her within 10 days. That was about 10 days ago, but we haven't seen an update yet.
Their initial statement said they take "food and drink safety extremely seriously" . . . they're "disappointed to hear of [her] experience" . . . and that they're "working with the restaurant to investigate."
