Music News: Smashing Pumpkins Drop A New Video For "Spellbinding"

Smashing Pumpkins Drop A New Video For "Spellbinding"

Just a day after Smashing Pumpkins kicked off their new “The World Is A Vampire Tour” in Las Vegas, they’ve released a video for the third chapter of their trilogy album, “Atum.” But the video for single “Spellbinding” isn’t just your usual music video- it incorporates elements of gaming into his story.

“We adopted a virtual production model for the 'Spellbinding' video, creating it entirely in the gaming engine; unreal, with digital avatars moving through fantastical worlds that play a key role in the ‘Atum’ storyline,” revealed director Kevin Kerslake. “Billy (Corgan) and I share an interest in the fusion of old-world elements with state-of-the-art technology, and all the stars aligned on this video to break new ground."

“Atum” is considered a sequel to 1995’s “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness” and 2000’s “Machina/Machine Of God.” Check out the video of “Spellbinding”

Dave Draiman Unloaded on Roger Waters During a Show in Israel

Disturbed played a show in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Wednesday, and their proud Jewish frontman Dave Draiman had some words for Roger Waters.  He did NOT hold back.

After singing Israel's national anthem, which is called "Hatikvah," he said, quote, "[Eff] Roger Waters and all the rest of his . . . nazi [A-holes].  Every last [effing] one of them!

"We don't need that [crap].  We've survived worse than them, and we'll continue surviving worse than them!"

System Of A Down "Still On A Musical Hiatus":

There isn't great news for System Of A Down fans who are hoping the band will soon end their 18-year absence from the music scene. Bassist Shavo Obdadjian confirmed that, even though the band reunited for a performance at last month’s Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, the band has no plans to resume recording. “Not in the near future,” admitted Obdadjian- even did take some time to promote his upcoming solo album. System Of A Down has ‘fessed up to having a difficult time creating new music together, and it doesn’t seem like time has changed that.

Flea Thinks Red Hot Chili Peppers Should Remake Debut.

Flea might admit that Red Hot Chili Peppers’ debut album was good, but he wishes he had a mulligan. The bassist recently admitted that their 1984 LP, “The Red Hot Chili Peppers” included a couple of replacement players who didn’t gel.

“I think the songs are really good, but (drummer) Jack (Irons) and (guitarist) Hillel (Slovak) quit, and we hired these two other guys: Jack Sherman and Cliff Martinez,” reminded Flea. “Both were great musicians, but the connection just wasn’t as profound as we had with the guys we started with.”

And the blunt rocker believes there really is only one true fix. “I’ve often wanted to go back and re-record that album,” he confessed. “But I can never talk anyone into it.”
